Eighty students graduate - Kevin Shea receives Outstanding Faculty Award

New England College of Finance (NECF) held its 2008 graduation ceremony at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on June 19, 2008. Eighty students, most of whom completed their degree program online, graduated with Associate Degrees in Business Administration and Professional Development Certificates in Accounting, Banking, Financial Services, and Management.

Esteemed NECF alumna Lisa Anderson, Senior Vice President, Group Manager for Banking Group Operations for Bank of America, delivered an inspirational and motivational Commencement Speech entitled "Four Concepts of My Years in College."

Adjunct Professor Kevin Shea received the 2008 Outstanding Faculty Award. Professor Shea also received this award in 2003. In his 15 years at NECF, Professor Shea has become increasingly popular in his role of motivator, educator, and humorist! "Proffo," as he is called by his students, is a master at integrating humor into his online courses. In his speech, "Those Who Can Teach, Do," Professor Shea praised his fellow faculty members, some of whom have taught as adjunct professors at New England College of Finance for over 25 years, for their dedication and commitment to teaching excellence.

Graduate Peter Plecinoga received NECF’s 2008 Outstanding Academic Achievement Award. Mr. Plecinoga, a Consumer Loan Officer at Danversbank, graduated with honors with a concentration in Branch Management.

Graduate Guy Prather, an employee of the Federal Reserve Bank, was the recipient of this year's Student Services award for his participation in the College's degree expansion initiatives.
